Vilma Jazgeviciute

Qualified Counsellor / Psychotherapist

Asking for help isn’t always easy and it can be even harder for people living with social anxiety. But watching your life is shrinking year after year is really painful. I know it can be better. I also know what it feels to get nervous in social situations, and as a therapist I would like to share with you a new grounded approach how to create a different relationship with discomfort. You can learn how to participate in your life fully without fighting anxiety or hiding under the mask.

I am a bilingual therapist working in English and Lithuanian languages, and see clients from different backgrounds, cultures and perspectives.

I invite you to non-judgmental, cooperative and encouraging therapy work. No matter how long you were struggling with anxiety, you can start now where you are. While you may have a specific issue to address or explore, my areas of most interest are as follows:

Living with Social Anxiety. Create a different relationship with discomfort

When Perfectionism works against you

When you're feeling stuck with Negative Thinking and can hardly see a way out

At the Choice Point in life - What matters to you most?
What sort of person you want to be? Who do you care about the most?

How to deal with difficult emotions more effectively, so they
have less impact and influence over you

Ready get started?

Therapy Approach & Qualifications

I work flexibly by integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Adlerian psychotherapy regarding the client's situation. There is no right way of treatment for every one person; what works for one person may not work for another.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Certificate in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT). I received an extensive training with ACT co-founder Kirk D. Strosahl, focused ACT co-author Patricia J. Robinson, ACT leaders in ACT therapy Thomas Gustavsson, Russ Harris. I am a member of Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, ACBS.

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based modern psychological model. It includes acceptance, self-compassion, mindfulness practices, values-based living.

Individual (Adlerian) Psychotherapy

I am a member of the Adlerian Society UK & Institute for Individual Psychology, ASIIP and got the Diploma in Adlerian Counselling & Psychotherapy.

Individual therapy is a humanistic, holistic psychotherapy based on the theories of Alfred Adler. It focuses on the goals and purposes of human behavior. A.Adler believed that we have a freedom to act and to create our own destiny: "Meanings are not determined by situations, but we determine ourselves by the meanings we give to situations”

Social Anxiety

-The Happiness Trap (Based on ACT: A revolutionary mindfulness-based programme for overcoming stress, anxiety and depression) by Russ Harris
“Commitment isn’t about being perfect, always following through, or never going astray. Commitment means that when you (inevitably) stumble or get off track, you pick yourself up, find your bearings, and carry on in the direction you want to go.”

-How to Be Yourself: Quiet Your Inner Critic and Rise Above Social Anxiety by Ellen Hendriksen

“Ultimately, social anxiety is the fear that whatever we’re trying to hide will be revealed to everyone like a gust of wind sweeps away a bad toupee. We think there is something wrong with us and therefore try to conceal it.”

-Dare: The New Way to End Anxiety and Stop Panic Attacks by Barry McDonagh

“SUMMARY OF THE DARE RESPONSE FOR PANIC ATTACKS If you feel the beginnings of a panic attack, respond to those initial waves of anxiety with a “so what/whatever.” You’re safe. Your body can handle it! As the waves increase, accept and allow all the uncomfortable anxious thoughts and sensations to just be. Don’t resist them. Bob up and down with them. Repeat to yourself, “I accept and allow this anxious feeling.” If a wave of anxiety peaks into a panic attack, run toward it. Tell yourself that you feel excited and then call fear’s bluff by demanding more! Ride up and over the wave of adrenaline. Once the initial flood of adrenaline has passed, understand that there may be a few more minor waves of adrenaline”

-The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are by Brene Brown

“There is a huge difference between healthy striving for improvement, because it is focusing on the self – how can I improve at _______? Perfectionism, on the other hand, focuses on what others think – what are others going to think of ___________?”

-Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself by Kristin Neff

“Compassion is, by definition, relational. Compassion literally means “to suffer with,” which implies a basic mutuality in the experience of suffering. The emotion of compassion springs from the recognition that the human experience is imperfect.”

-True Refuge: Finding Peace and Freedom in Your Own Awakened Heart by Tara Brach
The book contains guided meditations.

“Please don’t wait. Don’t lose your life moments to self-judgments, blaming others, the trance of worrying and checking things off the list.
You have the capacity for expressing creativity and spontaneity, wisdom and care. You have the potential for living from love.  To manifest this requires intention, and the practices of open-hearted presence.”

[email protected]

tel: +44 7474 022 147

Kviečiu į lygiavertišką, pagarbų ir emociškai saugų terapinį susitikimą. Konsultuoju įvairiais gyvenimiškais klausimais, tačiau labiausiai asmeniškai ir profesiškai mane domina šios temos:

Socialinės baimės ir nerimas.
Kai ribojame save, laukdami 'magiškojo' pasitikėjimo jausmo

Perfekcionizmas, kuris mus stabdo.
Kaip susitarti su demotyvuojančiu vidiniu kritiku?

Kas man gyvenime šiuo metu yra svarbiausia?” -
žmonės, tikslai, dalykai, vietos, vertybės, poreikiai, norai.
Pokyčių gyvenime metas.

Kaip išmokti valdyti sunkias įkyrias emocijas, mintis, prisiminimus,
kad jie mažiau įtakotų mūsų gyvenimą

Jeigu kyla klausimų ar konsultuoju konkrečia tema – rašykite; net jeigu nedirbsime kartu, galėsiu jums rekomenduoti kolegą ar bent literatūros ta tema.

Susitikimo trukmė - 50 min.Pirmas susitikimas.

Individualioji (A.Adlerio) psichologija (IP)

Esu ACBS (Association for Contextual Behavioral Science) narė.
